Din Dayal, a small accountant in the English School falls in love with Madhu, daughter of the chairman of the management commitee. DinDayal leaves the job and 30 years later becomes a leading businessmen. He has 2 daughters priya and pooja. One is shy and introvert and other is courageous and talkative. Priya is also to get married to DD's friend's son Ranjit who is studing in the US.

Din Dayal's friend betrays him and takes away all his property. DD dies of heart attack. Priya whom the world though was fragile comes out of her shell and changes to a courageous woman and swears to take back all that her father had lost and bring that friend to the streets. Does she get all that ? Does her marriage to Ranjit take place ? Does Ranjit wait for her ? That is what Imtihaan is all about.
