Mritunjay is based on a very famous marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant. The story is set in the period of Mahabharat as seen through the eyes of 'KARANA'. Since events are seen from his point of view, there will be a drastic change in the story. There are some aspects of karna that were not highlighted in any of the other mythological serials. We have taken the period of Mahabharat is as 1400 B.C. Because there must be some amount of logic in recreating a period.

About the housing, the culture, the society and the costumes. We have depended on the data on Indus Valley Civilization, the period prior to Mahabharat and post to it.
